These timely innovations address the growing industrial need for more sustainable operational methods.
In Tornio, the Koulukyyti app is being launched, which will make it easier to manage school transportation. The app automatically optimizes routes, for example, if a guardian reports a student's absence, eliminating unnecessary trips. The app has already been in use in Kemi, and its expansion to Tornio brings significant benefits, such as improved safety and environmental sustainability.
Green North Energy has signed a letter of intent with the cities of Pori and Kemi in Finland regarding a feasibility study on the establishment of green hydrogen and ammonia plants. The Finnish company will be able to utilize the production concept it developed with the support of Business Finland, which it is already applying in the pilot plant currently under development in Naantali. The planned investments total more than one billion euros and are aimed at accelerating the green transition, improving security of supply and creating new jobs.
In November, the European Union-funded RISE began piloting new financing opportunities for Lapland businesses. During the two-year RISE period, a new financing model will be tested, combining public and private financiers to fund investments. Participation in the pilot is free for companies. The pilot is organized by Kemin Digipolis Ltd.
