Veitsiluoto is a 190-hectare industrial area seeking new industrial activities. It is particularly suitable for energy-intensive operations requiring industrial, storage, and office spaces. The entire area is zoned under the T-Kem plan.

Veitsiluoto offers both vacant industrial buildings and opportunities for new constructions.

The Invest in Veitsiluoto project attracts new businesses to the Kemi – Keminmaa – Simo regions and supports their establishment in the Veitsiluoto industrial park. This initiative is part of Kemi's structural change action plan, aiming to minimize the negative effects of Stora Enso's plant closure and create up to 1,000 new jobs. The project is implemented by Kemin Digipolis in cooperation with Stora Enso, the City of Kemi, and the ELY Center.

Current companies in the area include Stora Enso Veitsiluoto sawmill, Nevel, Viafin Service, Eurofins, Securitas, and Veljekset Toivanen.

Kuusakoski is establishing a steel recycling plant, and Infinited Fiber Company is planning a recycling textile factory in Veitsiluoto.
