Welcome to the home of circular economy, Kemi. Over a decade ago, we began identifying side streams in Sea Lapland and repurposing them. This led to the creation of the world’s first circular economy roadmap and the establishment of the Circular Economy Center.

The Circular Economy Center employs a dozen experts accelerating, sparring, and promoting circular economy business locally, nationally, and internationally. With a history spanning a century, we continue to passionately engage in circular and bioeconomy, offering opportunities for businesses of all sizes.

For us, the circular and bioeconomy is not a passing trend. We have been utilizing side streams for over a hundred years in Laitakari. The world's first circular economy roadmap also originated from Sea Lapland when our engineers began calculating industrial side streams and considering their reuse.

In 2024, we continue to passionately embrace circular and bioeconomy. We welcome new green transition businesses, both large and small.
